Pregnancy Week 31

bump size round the middle:   107  Gain 2cm

Maternity Clothes: No new

Other Purchases made this week: Brought bits for my hospital bag from Boots and then we did a trip to mothercare to get some missing bits I got a Duck bath thermometer, a white & a blue crib blackest and car seat rain cover. Also finally got hold a walloboo footmuff in dark blue for the car seat to keep little one warm in the winter. I was also naughty and brought sore more clothes for him in Adsa

Stretch Marks: No new

Sleep: Mixed with back playing it means I’m having problems during the night

Best moment this week : My baby shower on Saturday – see other blog post about it and Friday me and Mum sorted all Baby Hano’s clothes in his nursery, was lovely doing this with my mum and was quite glad she loved everything. We also packed his hospital bag and started to pack mine. You can just see them in the bottom of the wardrobe

Worse Moment this week: The back and pelvic pain I’m in, been off work since Tuesday, had 2 physio appointments, they have helped I just need to remember to wear my maternity belt more

Pregnancy Classes attended this week: booked a private physio appointment as I couldn’t cope with the pain.

Movement : Lots, pretty much moves 3-4 times a day some are quite uncomfortable but suppose that will happen as he gets les & less room in there.

Food Cravings : Cheesecake

Anything making you queasy or sick? Just over eating though am still getting acid reflux

Labour signs: I had a bit of a scare Wednesday night, decided to have a bath to help easy my back but while in the bath I started getting bad sharp period like pains so much so it made me cry, hubby was out so called him 1st, agreed I would call the maternity unit. The lady who answered the phone was lovely very re-assuring, asked me lots of questions, she told me that as I wasn’t bleeding and baby was moving she wasn’t worried and probably down to my PGP thankfully by the next morning the sharp pains had stopped

Symptoms: belly getting bigger, back & pelvis pain, getting up for a wee couple times a night and sleeps getting more of a problem. I’m also getting a bit restless not sure if that because I have spent most of the week at home?

Belly button in or out? In just

Wedding ring on or off? on

Mood over week? Mixed had a melt down on Saturday think it was nerves about the afternoon and lack of sleep, the pain in my back and hip has also brought me down

Looking forward to: being in less pain

Miss anything? Being at home has meant I could look at our finances and also call the bank about our mortgage. I was advised by friend to apply for a mortgage holiday, this means you apply to stop paying your mortgage for so many months. Under Nationwide rules we can apply 2 months before we want to take it, for me that would be Sept when I drop down to SMP so we can apply in July, and probably ask for 5 months. I was warned that you would still accrue the interest and this would be added when we start paying again, so the payments would increase. Worth asking I think though.

Baby Shower 13th April 2013

I’ve always wanted a baby shower. Couple of years ago I got the great joy in organising my best friends. So when I finally got pregnant I knew I’d want one. Early on my mum asked me and said she would be happy to organise it with my friends so that what happened. She asked me to send her a list of any presents I might like to help guide anyone who wanted to buy me something.

The theme was a Teddy Bears tea Party. Mum asked everyone to bring a bear and a photo of themselves as a baby.

Mum asked me to turn up early so I was there when everyone arrived. My dad and brother had sorted out all the catering, we had a fab spread of sandwiches and cakes including by request from me scones, jam & clotted cream! YUMMY.

She’s set up my old cot in the lounge for everyone to see. She had kindly kept it all these years for me to use for my little one and I am so pleased she did.

Mum had set up a couple of games: guess who the baby is and guess the ingredients of the baby food, have to say I stayed well clear of that game. She also brought a small hope & dreams book for everyone to write in, which was a lovely thought. Then my other friend had put together a small quiz.

In total we had about 20 people, mixture of old friends, family and work colleagues and some brought their children which was lovely. I found it lovely seeing everyone.

I was very spoilt and brought lots of lovely gifts, some things I’d asked for but other things that I hadn’t. Some of my fav’s are below
